Beyonce: Super Bowl Performance

It was a bold move for Beyonce to release such a controversial  song two days before the Super bowl then perform it. Although the song is quite entertaining, I still do not feel the super bowl was the right place to preform it. I have no problem with her singing about her heritage and where she is from. I just feel like the super bowl should have songs that make you want to get up and dance and that are upbeat. The song that she preformed was very serious and  personal. I do understand why she preformed it because it is black history month, so it makes sense and she was just trying to get the message out about Civil rights and women standing up for what they believe in. Beyonce is a very powerful women, so she is not going to take a lot of crap for preforming this because according to most people she a Queen.

One of the main things I wanted to bring up about her song "Formation" was how people think she made a anti-cop statement in her song. People think the song portrays cops as villains and they just shoot innocent people, but thats not true at all. Cops protect us and Beyonce would never speak bad about them. Everybody is just picking bad things out of here song when there is so much good about it. Even though I do not think it was the right place to preform the song I still think it was great of her to speak her mind.

  1. Everyone has different opinion in things but you made a good point in your post. Maybe it wasn't the right place but however, everybody feels differently about her performance. I do agree that people are just trying to pick out the bad things out of her song.

  2. Danny, I really liked your opinion on this topic. It was hard for me to form an opinion on it, to be honest i'm kind of on both side. But I really agree with your statement about police. Police are here to protect us and she is not against them. I didn't see how cops had to do with the song at all.

  3. Danny, i agree with you to some degree but i have to say i disagree where you mentioned that Super Bowl was not the right place for Beyonce to sing her song because it was not entertaining enough. honestly only few people were able to identify the real message of her song because most of them were too busy having a good time and loving her performance. Her dancers were great as usual and the song itself did not sound as protest at that time, especially with the performance of Bruno Mars.

  4. I agree with you that she chose to sing and release this song for Black History Month. She wanted not only to get her message out about civil and gender equality but also wanted to express her black pride. I disagree with you that you don't feel like the superbowl was the right place to preform this song, I think it was the perfect place. Beyonce knew just how many people would be watching and she wanted to get her message out worldwide.
