This blog represents the work of Bridgewater State University students. This course is focused not only on women in the music industry, but women who use/used their voices to comment on social and political issues. We are focused on how women have used/use their voices in order to express their power as women. We will analyze their work mainly through an intersectional feminist lens. This blog will contain the students' responses to weekly readings and classroom discussions.

I wrote my short essay about Miranda Lambert. I wrote about her because I love everything about her. She is so confident and comfortable with herself. I first discovered Miranda Lamber when her song "Mama's Broken Hear" came out. I was watching the music video and absolutely fell in love with her. The music video portrayed her as some psychotic woman who had just gotten her heart broke. She was insane and I loved every minute of it. I chose to write about her because of her confidence and the was she portrays herself.

I totally agree with you on your choice of female artist. I personally love the song you chose and almost chose it myself.
ReplyDeleteI too find it interesting how Miranda Lambert was so confident in her own skin and wasn't afraid to express herself. I think it's great that Miranda along with many other singers are able to express themselves through there lyrics and tell there story.
